Greetings Class!
I am teaching Phys122A and Phys122C this quarter and I'm excited to meet you Monday January 5. But, before that, you have a few things you must do to get ready:

Sign up for SmartPhysics (online). You will need to register with your 7 digit student ID number for 122A (9:30 class) or 122C (10:30 class) using the access keys

P122A-W15 for Phys 122A
P122C-W15 for Phys 122C

Next, do the PreLecture 1 and Checkpoint 1 on Columb's Law before Monday morning's class. If you took 121 here, you know the drill. If not see the homepage (below) links and follow the instructions. It's easy once you get started.
Bookmark our Homepage: http://faculty.washington.edu/hertzog/Phys122Web/Physics122Winter2015.html now since important information will be posted there. Have a look.
Bring a CLICKER to class. We'll use these extensively. (homepage has details).
I am attaching a pdf of the Syllabus draft. It's also linked on the homepage.
Grading policy is linked there too.
We will use WebAssign homework. It also provides an online textbook access (which I prefer for my own use). You need to purchase access to WebAssign. First HW will not be due until the 2nd week of class.
To get the most out of my classes, bring a pencil (or pen), a pad of paper and be prepared to interact on Clicker questions and general discussion. My lectures will be posted AFTER class so you need not try to copy the slides as I go. I will generally work closely with respect to the SmartPhysics lessons.
I DO read your comments in the SmartPhysics responses and I do read your Lecture Thoughts, so please use those opportunities thoughtfully.
